Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Comptoir Veritas when you use this site.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Comptoir Veritas (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by [Legal entity name] (“Veritas,” “we,” “us”).
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your password secure.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from Account → Profile & Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. What the Service provides
Veritas provides price analysis, market data, and listings for luxury watches, handbags, and jewelry, plus tools for approved dealers. Listing and sold-price information is aggregated from third-party sources, including the eBay marketplace.
4. Price data is informational only
All price figures, trends, charts, valuations, and “suggested” ranges on the Service are estimates for informational purposes only. They are derived from aggregated market data, may be delayed or incomplete, and do not constitute an appraisal, an offer, financial or investment advice, or a guarantee of any actual transaction value. Always perform your own due diligence and seek professional advice before buying, selling, or making financial decisions.
5. Listings & third-party transactions
- Live listings are provided by third-party marketplaces. Veritas is not a party to any transaction between you and a third-party seller or buyer, and is not responsible for the items, their authenticity, payment, shipping, or fulfilment.
- Items you submit through “list an item” are your responsibility; you represent that you have the right to sell them and that your description is accurate and lawful.
- Any reference to “authenticated” or programs such as eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee refers to the third party’s program and standards, not a warranty by Veritas.
6. Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. This does not influence the price data we display.
7. Dealer program
Access to dealer features requires a separate application and our approval, and may be subject to additional terms. We may grant, decline, suspend, or revoke dealer access at our discretion. Wholesale figures and valuations provided to dealers are estimates for reference only, as described in Section 4.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data except as expressly permitted; interfere with or disrupt the Service; misrepresent your identity or an item; infringe others’ rights; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
9. Intellectual property
The Veritas name, logo, design, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and may not be used without permission. Third-party marks and listing content belong to their respective owners.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that price data is accurate, complete, or current, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veritas and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on price data or from third-party transactions. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or USD 100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Veritas from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your listings, or your breach of these terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [State / Country], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in [jurisdiction], unless applicable law provides otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
